Stress + Sex Hormones

Cortisol

Cortisol levels should fluctuate within the course of the day. This information is helpful because your cortisol pattern is key in establishing your circadian rhythm and is important to be sure your body has the energy needed to get up and get going each morning. When people are under stress, this natural cortisol rhythm often gets out of balance and this can cause a long list of symptoms. It can also cascade into other areas affecting the balance of sex hormones, your ability to digest food and your ability to detoxify.

Sex Hormones

Hormones tested include Progesterone, Estradiol, The Progesterone: Estradiol Ratio, Testosterone, & DHEA-S. Hormone imbalances can cause uncomfortable symptoms for both men and women, such as fatigue, foggy thinking, sleep disruptions, joint pain, headaches, nervousness, irritability, anxiousness, water retention, loss of muscle mass, weight gain, decreased libido, and even depression. Ideally our sex hormones are in a balanced range according to age and other lifestyle factors.

Stress & Hormone Panel

Hormones are the master director for a symphony of functions. Hormones also give us a window into our gut health.

This screening uses 4 saliva samples taken throughout the day to assess circadian rhythm, stress levels, sex hormones, melatonin and immune function.
